After the first album
“The 3 Cold Men” released around the world
by SSI/ Soulfood (Germany), the Brazilian/French band
3 Cold Men comes with a remix cd called “Urban
Rmxs”, before the new album “Photogramm”
to be released in 2006. Urban Rmxs brings tracks from
the first album, remixed for djs and bands around
the world and one remix of the new track called “My
Greatest Greta” dedicated to the actress Greta
Garbo. It includes danceable versions with the marvelous
and unmistakable Franck’s vocals (trademark
of the band), giving us a special atmosphere never
heard.
The band had good reviews in underground magazines
such as Zillo, Orkus and DNA Six. They stood 3 months
on FAC (French Alternative Charts) and second best
album in BAC 2004 (Brazilian Alternative Charts).
The English writer and journalist Mick Mercer (Gothic
Rock Book) said: “As they trot gamely through
an eponymous opener the strange scent of New Romanticism
wafts around like a putrid perfume, but in reality
both this and ‘Truth’ are merely proof
that for anything synthy and lightweight the 80s is
the key. Somewhere between the sixth form viscosity
of Depeche Mode, and the unnaturally suave Heaven
17, you have all the hallmarks, which are stamped
on these songs. These are very genial numbers, ambling
along, melody glued to the vocals, and they’re
elegant, rather than eloquent, vocal refrains. Unhappy
emotional endings are simply strolling through clean
environments, sharing their thoughts with us like
an exhibition. Synths flutter, melodies pop and their
line about ‘electronic tears, wrapped in some
synthetic laments’ is self-explanatory.”
Names such as Dust of Basement (Germany), Peter Elliot
(France), Celluloide (France), Nouvelle Culture (France),
People Theatre (France), Dj Wehbba (Brazil), Beat
Lancaster (Brazil), Nocivo (Argentine), NG-Pro (Holland),
Overflow 110 (Finland) and Foretaste (France) worked
for this cd.
